August 15 is the day we call "war-end memorial day".
Every year August reminds us of the world war II.
August 6th is the day America dropped the a-bomb over Hiroshima,
and 9th is the day when Nagasaki was damaged badly.
On each day, we have big against-war events and we can see them
on TV almost all day long.

On 15th , we have a big memorial service at the biggest hall in Tokyo
for those who died in the war.
Prime minister and Royal couple (we don't call them "emperor and
empress any more but I do not know how I should call them in English)
attend the service, too.

These pictures are both TV screen.
At noon, they observe one minutes' silence and TV broadcast it LIVE.
