These are all Buddhist altars and its fittings.
You see mortuary tablets in the picture on your right.
In Japan, when people die, it is very common to hold a funeral in Buddhists' way.
When a person dies, he or she is given a posthumous Buddhist name
so he/she can realize that he/she shouldn't stay in this world but go on to
the next world under the new name.
Tne posthumous name is engraved on the mortuary tablet
and it is placed in the altar, together with a glass of water and some meal,
and maybe some flowers.
